Well, a fork of debian entitled ubuntu linux has been prepared, and various developers are raving about it.
Some of these developers like it so much they are installing it on all their systems. Another developer (one of the Joey’s) asks, how can you be a debian-developer without a debian system? Good question.
All in all, I think that this is going to take talented people away from debian rather than be beneficial.
